Exercise #907: Self Knowledge
Posted 7/16/21

What do you put off doing because you dread it?

Think about times when you have procrastinated about something and how it came out in the end. Did it matter that you waited? Try to find an example for when the outcome was better than expected (waiting paid off or the event was not nearly as bad as you’d imagined) and an example for where the outcome was worse than expected. With your two examples in mind, let them spark your creativity and write!

You may, as always, have a character do this exercise instead.

Critiquers, you might try answering these questions for critiquing the piece:
     * Did you catch any spelling errors or other standard proofreading items? If so, note them for the author.
     * Could you relate to this piece? Why or why not?

Why this is a self-knowledge exercise: Whether we procrastinate (or what we choose to procrastinate about) can tell us something about ourselves.
