Exercise #652

Exercise #652: Craft
Posted  1/1/16

Today’s exercise comes from B Paul. Thanks, Beep! (Sorry I took so long.)

Introducing a group - Sometimes you need to introduce a group of characters in the same scene.

The points here are to make each person distinct, show the relationship, if any, between the players, and to do it efficiently. Try to include at least six characters. They need not be related, or even be acquaintances. It need not be a complete story, or even a complete scene, but a critiquer should garner at least a germinal feel for each player’s personality.

Critiquers, along with a technical review you might answer these questions:
     * Was this exercise helpful to you as a writer?
     * Why or why not?
     * Did you recognize some differences between characters?
