Exercise #437: Self Knowledge
Posted 9/16/11

Do you have a question you can’t ask anybody?

Think carefully about this. There’s something you want to know but simply cannot ask it. Did you find the question?

Why can’t you ask this question? Show us the reasons for the un-asking. We want to understand what it is that keeps you from speaking.

You may, if you wish, show a character tackling this exercise instead.

Critiquers, you might choose to answer these questions for critiquing the piece:

     * Did you catch any spelling errors or other standard proofreading items? If so, note them for the author.
     * Do you relate to this SUB? Why or why not?

Word limit: 1200
Please use the subject line:
             SUB: Exercise #437/yourname

Why this is a self-knowledge exercise: There are many reasons adults cannot ask questions. Where a child will blurt out a question with nothing on their mind but curiosity, adults have many more restrictions. Reviewing some of those restrictions may help you overcome them, if appropriate.
