Exercise #343

Exercise #343: Self Knowledge
Posted 5/19/06

Most of us know the fairy tales about Prince Charming or Sleeping Beauty: how someone finds the one that’s meant for them.

If you have a Prince Charming or Sleeping Beauty in your life, how did you meet? (My love’s “white horse” was a ‘67 Rambler.)

If you don’t have a Prince Charming or Sleeping Beauty, show us how you might meet them . . . tomorrow.

You may, if you wish, show a character tackling this exercise instead.

Critiquers, with an exercise like this one, you might choose to answer these questions rather than using a different technique for critiquing the piece:
     * Can you relate to the piece? How and why?
     * What is the message, if there is one? Is it presented in a way any reader can understand even if he/she hasn't had a similar experience?
     * Did the writer's experience come through to the reader?

Word limit: 1200
Please use the subject line:
             SUB: Exercise #343/yourname

Why this is a self-knowledge exercise: This exercise will give you opportunity to remember - if you ever forget! - what you like about your soulmate, or what you envision your soulmate to be like.
