Exercise #305: Word Play
Posted 2/27/09

Today’s exercise idea comes to us from Jo Best.

Pick one of your favorite words (just one!).

Write a short piece using your word as many times as you possibly can, to the point of being ridiculous. Then re-write the same piece using different words in place of that favorite word, or making it into a sensible SUB.

Critiquers, keep in mind version one is meant to be silly and focus on version two. Has the “ridiculousness” of the piece been weeded out by the rewrite?

Word limit: 300 per version, two version limit
Please use the subject line:
       SUB: Exercise #305/yourname
