Exercise #296: Brainstorm
Posted 12/26/08

I have always loved fairy tales. Now that I’m grown, I also love “the truth” about them. The musical Into the Woods depicts what happens after “happily ever after,” and it’s one of my favorite plays.

For today’s exercise, pick one and show us how:
  * Reading minds doesn’t guarantee understanding between people
  * Being rich doesn’t guarantee happiness
  * Gaining the one you adore as a spouse doesn’t guarantee a lasting, loving relationship, or
  * Having three wishes granted doesn’t guarantee your wishes are fulfilled.

Critiquers, note whether the author has successfully dispelled the fairy tale ending.
