Exercise #230: Self Knowledge
Posted 9/21/07

We all have regrets. (If you have none, I don’t want to know!) We also have all done things we don’t regret.

For today’s self-knowledge exercise, find a regret. Got it? Now show us this regret in the first section of your SUB.

Then, for the second section of your SUB, relate your regret to one of your non-regrets. Now show us this one. The two must be related in some manner.

Clear as mud? As an example, I could write about the regret of not marrying my first love, and then the non-regret of marrying my husband.

As always, you are welcome to put a character into this situation.

Critiquers, see if you can spot the relationship.

Word limit: 1200 for the two sections combined
Please use the subject line:
       SUB: Exercise #230/yourname

This self-knowledge exercise will make you examine memories for connections between them and perhaps make you realize regrets and non-regrets aren’t always what we think.
