Exercise #156: Self Knowledge
Posted 4/21/06

Picture someone you've known for a long time. This can be someone you have seen in awhile or someone you see every day. For best results, choose someone you’ve known for at least a year, and someone you’ve spent a lot of time with, both in the past and recently.

What were your impressions when you met them? Were those impressions right or wrong? Are those impressions right now?

How has that person changed during the time you've known them? Physically? Emotionally?

If you prefer, you may use a character reminiscing about someone.

I consider this a self-knowledge exercise because seeing the changes in others makes us recognize that we change, too.
